The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a leading institution in all aspects of women’s health, with nationally recognized programs in obstetrics and gynecology. Our compassionate team can provide assessment, treatment, and support through every stage of a women’s life—from puberty and her first gynecologic exam through pregnancy and menopause. Physicians evaluate the patient’s medical history and develop individual preventive care strategies. Along with the standard physical, which includes a pelvic and breast exam, the physician also reviews immunizations, nutrition, home issues, stress, and numerous other women’s health issues.

Gynecologic Oncology

The Gynecologic Oncology team at USC treats some of the most complex cases in the Los Angeles area. Our multidisciplinary approach means that our medical, surgical and radiation cancer specialists work together to bring their combined skills and expertise to your care plan. Our specialists have an exceptional level of expertise in treating vulvar cancer, vaginal cancer, cervical cancer,ovarian and fallopian tube cancer and peritoneal cancer, as well as rare cancers such as neuroendocrine cervical cancer, intergestational trophoblastic disease and uterine sarcomas. Our highly-trained physicians are skilled in advanced surgical techniques including minimally invasive and robotic surgery. 

Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery

With expertise in the subspecialty of gynecologic urology, our faculty physicians provide all aspects of care, including behavioral, medical and surgical therapies, in a multidisciplinary setting. Women are affected by a number of pelvic conditions that devastate their quality of life but are seldom discussed by the public, community or even physicians. But, there are a number of therapies that can cure and treat these conditions, allowing women to lead productive lives.

Maternal Fetal Medicine and Fetal Surgery

The Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians at USC provide a full spectrum of consultative and operative services for normal and complicated pregnancies. Many of the most widely accepted protocols for fetal and maternal care throughout the country have originated at USC. Our doctors collaborate with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles to develop a joint center for prenatal diagnosis and maternal and fetal care: The Institute for Maternal Fetal Health. Moreover, the division has a robust fetal therapy program, and a specialized expertise in fetal surgery with outcomes among the best in the nation.

Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility

This practice is focused on advanced reproductive care, including evaluation and treatment of all forms of infertility, male and female, and reproductive hormonal disorders of women and men.
